Actually trojans & keylogger processes these days are also named as chrome as it's a common browser so that victim may not be suspicious about the activity.
Since it's the most common and popular browser, most generic malware and malvertising will work primary on chrome, if they lazy it won't on gecko based browsers. I've been using Pale Moon for a couple of years and never had any issues with it, can't say the same about ff, it was crashing to often for me to use it, and they rapid release cycle broke my addons so many times it became a joke.
I'd started using Pale Moon x64 like
@darko999 because Firefox has had it's ups and downs, though overall I've found it to be both slower yet more trustworthy than the speedy Chrome. I'd like to try
@frogboy 's SlimJet browser too!

I uninstalled our latest stable Chrome portable today. It lasted approx 2 weeks, and is the main reason I ride the browser carousel as much as I do (..which is also how I found Malware Tips

). This was the 2nd occasion in a two month period I'd lost functionality using Chrome. Most recently, I'd also lost the installed uBlock, LastPass, and ScriptBlock extensions, after using Chrome on a public computer kept in shadow mode. I like Chrome's quickness (when it works) and (more often than not) sandbox it except when performing extension/security updates. I have also stopped installing browser themes on Chrome as I do not trust them to be clean anymore.

Hitman Pro has found completely hidden files with Chrome in the name, as per
@Tani 's observations, which Virus Total deems "..probably safe".

Yes, I agree there is more evidence that Chrome-a-holics shall suffer more mishaps for the same reasons people may drink too much tonight!

Happy (SAFE) New Year my Friends!!
