Hello everyone, I've just released version 3.0.1.7 of Windows Repair Toolbox. Here’s what has changed:

### Added

- The ability to select precisely what tools will downloaded or updated when the "Update All" button is clicked (in the "Settings" tab of WRT). The purpose is to allow the user to download / keep updated only the tools that he wants (thus saving space, bandwidth and time), and, incidentally, to give another way to prevent the AV warnings caused by the Nirsoft tools.

. Screenshot:
update-all.jpg

### Changed

- In the "Backup & Recovery" section, replaced "DriverBackup" with "CloneApp". CloneApp is program to backup / restore preferences, settings and other data of supported applications (it supports about 250 different Windows programs).

- If the OS is Windows 10, the information about the specific version will now be more visible (directly in the label, instead of a tooltip).

. Screenshot:
OS-label.jpg

- Removed the message box that would be shown at the startup of the program if for some reason the CPU temperature monitor wasn't available (replaced with a tooltip). Thanks to the user Omar for the suggestion.

- Improvements to the way the user settings and customizations are stored.

- Updated the 7-Zip components to version 19.00.

- Several other internal updates, changes and improvements.

### Fixed

- If "Windows Repair AIO" was selected to "Run Unattended" (in the "Malware Removal" tab of WRT), one of the repairs performed by it would sometimes trigger a warning message in WRT ("RAM performance monitor will not work"), that needed to be manually closed in order for the process to continue.

. Screenshot:
RAM-warning.jpg

- The program wasn't deleting the remaining incomplete file in the case of three sequential automated unsuccessful download attempts. This problem would mostly occur with the "MSERT" download, resulting in the error message: "The specified executable is not a valid application for this OS platform."

- If some exception occurred during the deletion of a file in between automated download attempts, the program would not restore several elements of the GUI (progressbar, the labels...).

- If it wasn't extracted and executed at least once, "Firefox Portable" would be downloaded every time the "Update All" button (in the "Settings" tab of WRT) was clicked.

- If it wasn't extracted and executed at least once, "Firefox Portable" would not be deleted by the "Clear Downloads" button (in the "Settings" tab of WRT).

- Several other minor bug fixes.

As always, if you have suggestions to improve the program, or bugs to report, please let me know.

Thank you!

Thank you!

Working fine. Only i should replace ccleaner for example PrivaZer or bleacbit. And maybe ZAM 3 when it is more stable at the time.

FYI: When using UltraAdwCleaner Windows defender quarantined 3 files..

Thank you for your feedback @thrillskr

For the purposes of WRT, I still prefer Ccleaner... because besides cleaning temporary files, it also gives quick access to disable or delete several startup items, among the other functionalities in their Tools section (System Restore, Uninstall Programs, Browser Plugins, Duplicate Finder...). I find it really practical to have all that in one single place.

Anyway, if you want to, you can add Privazer to the "Custom Tools" tab of WRT: drop the program into the respective folder, or add this line: <LINKS title="Privazer" link="https://privazer.com/en/PrivaZer.exe" exe="PrivaZer.exe"/> .

ZAM portable is already present in the "Malware Removal" tab.

Regarding the detections, what i think that happened, since I've already seen it many times, is that your real-time AV (Windows Defender in this case) picked up something that was being scanned by the on-demand scanner (Ultra Adware Killer). You can check out the Windows Defender threat history to confirm it. I did a test anyway, and in my case Windows Defender didn't throw any alert during the scan.

I wouldn't sweat about Ultra Adware Killer, it's a legit software by the same author of the well-known UVK (Ultra Virus Killer). Here's a VT scan anyway: Antivirus scan for a407dd530bf5917b1141b44642c798d0c05190c6e9a3fe8b8e03351cf16b1528 at 2019-03-20 17:37:39 UTC - VirusTotal

Yes, you are referring to the "AVRemovers" in the Uninstallers section. That's a collection of dedicated AV removal tools: AV Uninstall Tools Pack - Скачать бесплатно. Удаление программ

Those are very likely false positives.

I've actually just uploaded all those uninstall tools to VirusTotal (with the help of Virus Total Uploader), and these are the results.
In a total of 101 uninstall tools:

Maybe add TOR? Many times, people had a problem accessing internet, even using portable browsers, TOR worked, because it connects differently.

That's a good idea! Thank you. I'll have to do some tests though. If I add TOR it will be to replace Firefox Portable. My main concern is if TOR allows to change configurations and keep them (add extensions, change the homepage, keep bookmarks, etc.), and also its speed - i know that it's a bit slow, but I don't know if it's too much.

The main objective of having a portable browser in the toolbox, is to allow the user to access the Internet without having to use the browser installed in the computer being repaired. And also to have that browser already prepared with some useful stuff, like uBlock Origin, bookmarks to drivers download pages of some manufacturers, etc. If TOR allows that, and with the added benefit you mentioned, I'll try to add it.

@Dave Russo
Windows Repair Toolbox doesn't have a pro/paid version. Maybe you're confusing it Tweaking.com - Windows Repair?

@TairikuOkami
I've tested TOR but i think it's a no go... Regarding keeping the preferences and extensions it's all good, no problems in that part. The main issues were capchas when trying to perform searches with Google, slower download speeds (tried to download some drivers from HP website and there was a big difference in speed), and the fact that sometimes the websites will show in a different language (for instance the HP website was shown in Danish, what caused me some trouble trying to locate the drivers I wanted).

So I think that if the first priority was to provide a private browser, TOR would be the "go to" browser. But since the purpose is just to give the person that is fixing a computer a separated browser were he can google for solutions, download programs, etc. i think that Firefox is just a more practical solution (also probably there are some VPN or proxy extensions that can be added to Firefox to help circumvent internet filters when needed).

Hello everyone, I've just released version 3.0.1.8 of Windows Repair Toolbox. Here’s what has changed:

### Added

- Improved high-DPI support (for instance, the program will no longer look blurry when the DPI is set to 150%, like is common to see on some modern laptops).

- When a new version of Windows Repair Toolbox is available, the program is now able to auto-update while keeping user customizations. It will no longer ask you to go to the website to download the new version.

### Changed

- When setting a startup password for WRT, you will be asked you to enter it twice (in order to prevent typos).

- If you insert the wrong password when entering WRT, the program will no longer close itself (it was annoying having to re-open it).

- Improvements to the "Clear Downloads" function.

- Several other minor improvements.

### Fixed

- If Vipre Rescue was configured to run a full scan (instead of the default quick scan), the "Run Unattended" process would return an error when trying to put together the resulting logs.

As always, if you have suggestions to improve the program, or bugs to report, please let me know.

Thank you!

when I try to open the website to download the program (portable or normal) it just gives me Error 522 (connection timed out). Is the site down or what?
can someone upload the portable version to any hosting sites so I can download it?
thanks

Hi, the website is up.

Can you access it using this link?

Currently there's only one version of WRT (the portable one).

Still same error. Tried a VPN and it the website works. I download the Zip file, unpack and when I try to run the .exe file it fails to download the definitions w/o VPN.

Thank you. Still trying to sort things out with the hosting company.

Seems like several locations are affected:

I'm sorry for the inconvenience to those affected.
