Actually, you don't need a VPN with ad blocking capability. It's also mentioned in Windscribe's R.O.B.E.R.T. that if you turned on ads and trackers blocking there's a huge impact on its speed. BTW, this is for the Pro (paid) users only.

Ads & trackers — this mode expands on top of mode 2 and also blocks hundreds of thousands of known ad and tracking domains. This will have a huge positive impact on your browsing speed, and data usage, especially on mobile.

If you use K9 web filter (for desktop) or your AV has a web filter plus an extension like uBO/Nano Adblocker etc with some filters would suffice for web filtering

This, also, can leave you to choose a fast speed VPN provider

Yes, according to the R.O.B.E.R.T. article both are comparable in blocking performance.

Yes, I only block Malware + Ads & Trackers. Not Social Networks, this will be too much of any annoyance otherwise.

Where are Windscribe getting their list of advertising sites and malware domains from ?

Freedome's Tracking Protection is practically worthless nowadays as it only works on unencrypted sites. Same goes for their Browsing Protection but the majority of malicious sites are still HTTP so it's a lot more useful in that department.

If your mobile AV has a web filter that would be good enough. The more you filter the web the slower will be your phone. And, like I mentioned, you can then choose a faster VPN provider

Yeah, I get really good speeds too. I get only a few less MB/S than not using a VPN, well on most servers anyway.
