WiseVector did the same thing that SparkCognition did:

1. Provide an AI security solution for free - certain types of users will gobble it up enthusiastically
2. Use them as guinea pigs
3. Use their data to train the ML and AI
4. Pull the freeware and make it no longer available
5. Re-launch as an Enterprise solution

Hello guys!

I haven't been around for a few months. Apologies for that.
Thank you all for your interest in our current situation.
At present, the personal version (WiseVector StopX) has stopped updating, however, it's not the end of WiseVector.
Due to the reorientation of the company's business, the retention of the personal version is still under discussion within our company. We are working on a version that serves the enterprise.
I will come back to you when there is anything new with us. We are grateful for your trust and support!

It is better to create two programs, one of which is directed to companies that have decent features for companies, and the other is for personal use
Thus, you have done justice to the people who contributed to testing your program during the development period.

Well, it's as expected. Home users get shafted, we were used to blood the product and used for free feedback to improve the product and fix bugs. Now they use all the work and goodwill of us home users to build an enterprise product and make money.

Thus, you have done justice to the people who contributed to testing your program during the development period.

LOL (n). They used the security community to build a product that they are now going on to sell to enterprises while abandoning home users.

Sounds like decision has not been taken yet and the future of the home version is under a debate. But the home security market is not less fruitful than the enterprise. And home users are a great way to get telemetry. The decision to discontinue home products is rather surprising.

Windows Defender is the way, no looking back now.
Microsoft native security is really good for those users with the inclination to obtain the knowledge to implement it - learnt the internals and then implement either via utilities, scripts or GUI. However, automated solutions are much more beneficial to the majority of unmanaged users that have no such inclination.
