It's gone for good. It's not going to come back even in a paid version unless it's bought by Tencent, Qihoo or Alibaba.
Obviously, the Chinese Government stepped in and told them to cease operations. You can't really offer industry leading technology to the western countries if you're a Chinese company . Before anyone goes 'what about TikTok' that is different it's social media and they get to collect all that juicy data for future operations/campaigns.
