Let me correct it for you: Windows network optimization is buggy. A guy had 300 Mbps speed on 1TB network before using TCP Optimizer. Windows defaults suck, there is no: all in one.

Chromium downloads it in 3 secs, Edge instantly, there is even no download window, but I have Edge optimized unlike Chromium. :)

Would Network Optimiser tool in Kerish Doctor help in this case?

I don't use any download manager by default, but I test whenever I find one. This one look very good and it's fast too. But similar to some other download managers like IDM, XDM, the disk write bytes is twice the size of the file. If you download a 20 MB file, 40 MB data will be written on the disk. But it's odd because unlike IDM, XDM which download parts of the file in a different temporary location, combine them and put into your download folder, this one is writing files at the same pre-allocated space as the download folder yet for some reason disk writes amount is twice the size of the file.
It doesn't happen with FDM, JDownloader2 and the old and dead EagleGet.
I'm also curious to know if enabling parallel downloading on Chromium browsers increases disk write bytes but it's hard to measure that.
Gave this a try and to be honest was not really impressed with it but I would have never seen that it is basically writing twice the amount of data to my NVME drive which means more wear and tear for nothing!

So it's really bad in IMHO for the health of your SDD or NVME drives. Uninstalling now.

Have you tried Ant Download Manager? Is AntDM's "disk write bytes" the same?

Isn't torrent client better than download managers these days?
Torrents and regular downloads are different.
try this:
im using it for almost 8 months and don't have the issues you mentioned.

uses its own mechanism that others don't have:

This one is really a brilliant little program. I'm very surprised how tiny and effective this is. I needed to change a couple of things in settings to make it almost perfect. I enabled "Enable sparse file allocation" and disabled "Set date and time of file from server response". This is more than enough for any regular downloads except direct downloading of videos from websites. Thanks for this (y)
If It doesn't have to be free try Ant. I had to move to it, because IDM stopped downloading YouTube Videos.. Lifetime license here: $26.00.......... Yearly $15.00 I think
JDownloader2 is the best IMO for YouTube downloads. They release updates multiple times every single day. Usually, any changes made by YouTube is fixed by the JDownloader2 team within a few hours. Never seen a program that updates this often.

I download everything on my HDD to not waste SSDs write cycles 😄 But even then, writing the double the amount is a waste in my opinion, so I avoid such things. I opened an issue on its GitHub asking if he can do something about it. There's a thing called "sparse file allocation" which I learned yesterday from HTTP Downloader that @Sunshine-boy linked above. It's not enabled by default on that download manager, but I prefer this method since if you download a 500 MB file and stop it at 50% then only 250 MB is written on the disk while on the other hand by default on that download manager as well as Ant Download Manager, full size of the file is written on the disk at the start and then download is started. So even if you stop let's say at 10%, full 500 MB is written on the disk. This is for Ant Download Manager and HTTP Downloader by default.
AB Download manager is weird because it writes the full size at get go and then start writing again over it which is super strange.
Sparse file allocation is used by Free Download Manager. So only the amount you download is written. That's my understanding at this point from testing. Probably I'm not wrong.

Yeah, Ant is fine. Disk write bytes is the same as the file size. Nothing extra (y) But full file size is written even if you don't finish the download (not a big deal I think). The UI isn't very pretty but looking at settings it seems like a decent IDM alternative with torrent support.

Yes, AntDM performs well, particularly for media downloads. The developer keeps up with YouTube changes and resolves bugs promptly. I bought two AntDM lifetime licenses following my experience with its trial and giveaway versions.

These free alternatives don't have video downloading from clicking the popup feature which was the best for me in IDM. Ant free version can only do upto 360p videos. Can someone suggest a good extension that can do this? I tried video download helper in firefox but doesn't detect in some websites where IDM did and it also require to download its companion app. Any other alternative?

This uses the similar approach like jdownloader or yt dlp where supported websites need to be hardcoded in program itself. IDM uses extension and grabs links while video is playing and this approach can download from more websites in general. It works almost anywhere other than paid drm protected platforms.

You can use Xtreme Download Manager if you want something like IDM.

The Chromium based browser Coc Coc has an inbuilt video downloader.

Stop downloading so much stuff. You don't need a18 Terabyte pirated and fapping video library.

Stop doing such things and IDM or an alternative are not needed.

Control your behaviors. Now that's a novel idea. Innit?

This file centipede is a lot like XDM. What do the forum members think of that?
I have tried it and it's good but there were some bugs like download sometimes stopped for me near the end when multiple files are being downloaded.
It won't stay free, the devs are currently working on to make it a paid app. So those bugs will probably be fixed in the next (paid) version.

Only computer I have is shared with family so no place for those explicit materials to be stored, those are mobile only. And dont have such fast internet to hoard that absurd amount of data. Downloading 4 gb takes whole day here and that assuming you are the only one using it because during that time it slows down the internet of all other people using the shared wifi. This is the reason tiktoks went popular in 3rd world countries if you ever wonder about that.
You are inventing fake narrative or generalizing to appear holier than thou. Your type of people don't really care about the well behavior of others. You would do social work and help people with real issues instead of creating fake narratives, transform others into this one dimensional negative viewpoint and criticize that fake viewpoint you just created if you really were such a social worker.
