Avast's main problem is that the web side of protection is too prone to adding clean sites to the blacklist. There wasn't a single week I wouldn't have to submit a false positive report while I used it. Never got a false positive on files.
If they can at least add a button to continue to the website or add to it to exception list in the blocking pop-up, I can use it again, but I find it a hassle to add every website manually.

what about having Symantec , netcraft , defender instead of a bloated extension with false positives at least in ram usage they all use less together then Avast although that's not the most important factor in terms of performance (time till elements load is more important but haven't tested )

Chrome Extension Performance Lookup
Btw this is probably the most useful site for extensions benchmark and avast is one of the worst extensions tested

Oh and it breaks stuff inside chrome like back forward cache

"Among extensions with over 1 million users we find 6 that break the back/forward cache:

LastPass Password Manager (10 million users)
Avast Online Security (8 million users)
Avira Browser Safety (6 million users)
Norton Password Manager (5 million users)
Snap&Read (4 million users)
Microsoft Editor (2 million users)"

No, because the links I had for Norton v23 are dead...
I asked Norton to have v23 for testing purposes.
I really wonder if they use Broadcom (Symantec) sources in avast , avira, Nortonlife lock brands

If anyone is using one of their brands please tell me if this page is blocked Test Rating

If it's not blocked it will show the test Rating page And I provided an eaple of it being blocked and another where it isn't

Has anyone tried Norton For Gamers? Has it moved to V24 as well? I wonder how they integrated the game optimizer into the new interface, and in general are there any differences in interface design with the regular version.

I downloaded the old trial version that gives 60 days free, but it didn't upgrade to V24.

It does not look like there will be a separate Gamer Edition of the new versions.
But I can honestly say that I have a four year subscription to it and I might try version 24 today. It excites my imagination.

Norton Antivirus Plus V24 installed.
First impressions:
No system impact. Surprising. No noticeable impact on the machine.
The usual Norton niggles remain. Buy Norton Utilitiest, etc.
Apart from that, the program is fine for me. It's been up for 1 hour, still testing. However, it's true that it's really light as dirt.

New GUI displays "all the junk files on your PC on Norton's main UI now. This is very distasteful for a paid product with no way to hide it.
Yeah, that's disgusting. It played on my computer. I took it and deleted the hell out of it. I don't like Gen's business policy.
