Just posting suggestions for Shadowra's comparison in this topic. If your suggesting Xcitium, that's fine though CAMAS/Valkyrie is cloud based analysis so you didn't need to share an analysis result.

Oh and you can use the Spoiler Tag for big screenshots or resize them manually.

I know but Shadowra told me one time he will test CAMAS/Valkyrie too

Whatever programmes you decide to test, without Microsoft Defender there is no point.
If those other programmes outperform the built-in Microsoft Defender, then they show their real added value.
That's why it's a shame that the various testing labs don't always include Microsoft Defender in their comparative tests.

I haven't got an answer for either of those questions
There`s a first time for everything Roger;)

What`s my avatar doing working as a spoiler tag? Not sure if I like that?

Paid: System Mechanics System Shield vs PCMatics Super Shield

Free: Comodo Internet Security 2025 plain vanilla vs Cruel settings

MS Defender will be directly added, especially since I see it a lot on this topic :)

test will be great if the free one has bitdefender free , Kaspersky free , avast free .
The paid one having eset (liveguard) , having one under tested solution with usually good results like checkpoint either in this test or another one in the future as you can get zonealarm for the whole family (5 devices ) for 18$ Renewal and in my opinion it's a really good deal considering how much stuff is emulated in the cloud not using the resources of your machine and the signatureless zero pishing tech analyzed on checkpoint servers (those that want checkpoint free have an extension and can ask me for an API key to use threat emulation in the extension or can just use the beta program wich is free to use )

Hopefully I could have pressed labs to test checkpoint as well but done my best by voting in surveys to push it forward

Btw maybe an offline test of av software can be something you can do in the future as av software seem to use a lot of cloud based tech moving forward (maybe trident favorite checkpoint would fail without cloud access as most of their excellent tech runs on the cloud)

sorry if you already posted this, but what / where is link for beta program to use free checkpoint extension... I already have a paid Harmony on 1 VM but I'm not seeing how to use checkpoint in browsers on other VMs.

Should have been more specific
But the zonealarm beta program (has the same checkpoint extension with threat emulation but rebranded as web secure )

So it's even better as you have threat emulation not just in the browser

For only the extension Serious Discussion - [Extension]Checkpoint harmony web protection (I can send an API key for threat emulation as that requires an API key )

Lately firefox is my primary browser and add-on manager does not find zonealarm or zone alarm, but IIRC in my Harmony VM, firefox has the checkpoint extension added & running & threat emulationizing...

You can't find it in the store nor in chrome web store
You need a direct link as it's unlisted

more difficult question -- since I have harmony installed on VM and its checkpoint extension loads into all browsers, I went searching for the extension file on that VM and it seems like it is not an extension file like you download from online store. Any idea how to locate the just the extension on my VM -- I'm thinking it's very integrated and not accessible to move around...

I have just put the ID of the extension into web store that's how I got the direct link

Hello :)

Thank you all for your entries!

Here are the selected antiviruses! (I've upped it to 7, as I've seen some great suggestions)

Free :

Avast (not AVG because it's the same, same for Norton)
Avira
MS Defender
Panda
360 TS
NANO Antivirus
Huorong

Paid :
McAfee
ESET
Kaspersky
Trend
Bitdefender
Emsisoft
ZoneAlarm

See you after Christmas for Episode 1: The freeware comparison! :D
(Please note that during this event, I won't be processing any test requests until early 2025)

This topic may be locked by the moderators :)

Enjoy!

Shadowra ;)

Your going to be busy aren't you?

I would have preferred FSecure over Trend but that's just me.

Thanks for all your hard work.

I spread out the shoots to do them and rest :)
F-Secure would have been cool too, but I've seen a lot of Trend (and if I get a free 8th I'll try to include it too :p )
