Advice Request Cannot block popup in uBo

I cannot seem to block a popup at AZCentral. It's a newspaper's Arizona Sports site. Every time I go there, within about four seconds I get a popup that I cannot block. I haven't been able to determine in the log viewer just what is causing the popup. uBo is in hard mode, allowing only gannett (which owns the paper) and fastly. Any help would be appreciated.

Try to disable uBlock and try to block it with the element blocker.

I have. Nothing worked. Well, I haven't disabled uBo first. If I did that the element blocker wouldn't work.

Tried on Edge and Firefox now - no popups on my side. Which blocklists are you using in uBlock?

I only get a cookie notice which is being blocked by the AdGuard Annoyances filter.

Using the latest AdGuard beta extension I see 2 rules In it's English filter that could be of help:

I would always at least use AdGuard Base filter. Very effective at blocking a wide range of ads.

Only? No. But it is included.

Alright, checked again. After connecting to my VPN and accessing the US version of the website I also get the popup. Adguard Base filter will block it.

Odd. Shouldn't Adguard base on NextDNS be blocking it?

How would I go about doing that? I've wondering about that ability for a while now.

Probably it is a cosmetic rule, there is no cosmetic filtering on DNS level.
