I always have a doubt about this "recommended settings", why Microsoft didn't apply it by default, I think you gave the answer. The "recommended settings" profile seem to cause a general system slowdown... Thoughts?

I have not seen DefenderUI recommended profile cause "false positives/annoyance"...? This is the first I have heard of this.Because of false positives/annoyance, not great for the average user.
So maybe speed too.
It stops Word from opening a PDF after you just saved it. It stops some legit installers from running. The Ransomware folder protection literally blocks everything.I have not seen DefenderUI recommended profile cause "false positives/annoyance"...? This is the first I have heard of this.
@Templarware have you mentioned this to @danb in support email. I suspect he would try to duplicate and make improvements as long as they are secure. It stops Word from opening a PDF after you just saved it. It stops some legit installers from running. The recommended profile does not activate ransomware protection for me. Did you activate the protection yourself? If it bothers you, just deactivate it again. It stops Word from opening a PDF after you just saved it. It stops some legit installers from running. Ok but it's just one thing. Even without Ransomware, that really should be enabled if your using Defender, it still blocks some installers without even giving you an option to allow. The recommended profile does not activate ransomware protection for me. Thank you for mentioning this... we will be including every possible feature in DefenderUI. Well, within reason .@danb

1: I know DefenderUI is free to use, but is WDAC Lockdown also free? Or is that only until some a near future date, because it is new software?
