Now that I've had my surgical consultation, unfortunately I'll have to undergo surgery for two inguinal hernias in the coming months.
I can write about what I use (I'm still not used to the low latency of post correction):

In Chrome (primary), I usually enable three extensions:

  • uBlock Origin or AdGuard Browser Extension or uBlock Origin Lite
  • ModHeader
  • Bonjourr

In Firefox (secondary), only:

  • uBlock Origin

While I use Brave as browser, I normally run with Shields disabled (only on annoying website I switch to AGRRESSIVE :-) ) For me ControlD with OISD small and Avira Browser Protection with (mild) tracking protection does it.
May I ask why Ur using Avira Browser Protection over Malwarebytes Browser Guard?

on ControlD or Brave adblocker?
ControlD with OISD small and the very conservative Adguard anti-tracking build in to Avira Browser Safety. Has until now never caused any web breakage.

I like Avira Browser Protection, because it has decent bloick rates and Germany has very strict regulation in regard to privacy.

I am using two profiles one for work (with Avira and Shields disabled) and one for surfing with Brave Shields in aggressive mode witth no extensions.

First time to know that Avira browser protection can use custom filter lists.

If a person does not have at least 20 security browser extensions, then they are not secure.
Well, it is about a risk assessment, extensions are sandboxed and pretty restricted lately, so even a fully malicious extension does not have a full access to everything.

I have:

– uBlock Origin (obviously)
– Librezam (song discovery)
– Native HLS Playback (playing HLS streams)
– Search by Image (image search through multiple search engines)
– TWP - Translate Web Pages (website translation)
– Violentmonkey (user scripts)
– Urban VPN (free, totally not private VPN; disabled)

I have 4 in Brave and 7 in Chrome and all are enabled, at least at this time. In Chrome, 5 out of the 7 are specific to Google, as Chrome's function is for ATG (All Things Google) and for Banking stuff mostly.

Brave on the other hand I use for general use that needs less extensions. I'm even thinking about turning off Malwarebytes and ad blocking in both browsers as I have installed Adguard Home on my Slate7. I also use Mullvad so nary an ad or malware in sight.
