Command Prompt
  • Press the

+ R on your keyboard at the same time. Type services.msc and click OK.
  • Scroll down until you find DNS Client service.
  • Next to its name you should see Started or Stopped.
  • If it is stopped, right click and click Start.
  • Let me know if it started without problems.

Here's the FSS log attached.

I followed your command prompt directions and there was nothing next to the DNS Client Serivce but I right-clicked and hit start. It attempted to but gave me an error message, "Windows could not start the DNS Client service on Local Computer. Error 5: Access is denied."

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.
