From my perspective, the current layout feels much more balanced. The section-based organization makes the forum easier to navigate, especially for visitors and members who are not logged in. It feels cleaner, easier to scan, and less overwhelming, while still keeping some of the visual improvements that were recently introduced, such as the boxed thread tags. ✅🧭

The mentioned member is no longer as clear as it was before, as its color is white like regular text.

V1?

I had V2 by default yesterday; it was giving me a headache, and I started wishing I could customize each section because it was giving me too much information. I was hoping I would get used to it, and it was good to exercise my brain by adapting to changes, but by the time I quit yesterday, I was still getting a headache.

Today, I am back to V1 by default. My headache disappeared. I am still struggling to see why. I can only guess that it’s because V1 is more simplified, with not too much information on the same screen. If I want more, I click on different tabs. V2 is like a fighter jet interface for me, whereas V1 is a more peaceful, get-more-when-I-need-it kind of interface. I am still not sure if this is true, though.

I am sticking to V1 for now, if I can.

Why does MT change designs so often?
I'd prefer that over other forums that are so boring and stagnant like, oh I don't know, Wilders. Boring + stagnant = slow death.
I prefer stability over new.
Over on WSF, I use the old vB 3.x - Fluid style. Of the three available styles, to me that one is the easiest on the eye and the brain.
Here on MTF, I prefer the old V1 style, as to me that one is the easiest on the eye. However, I use about 40 uBlock Origin filter rules to hide any elements that I don't need. I like it clean and simple.
The new MTF style might not be so bad, but I notice my custom 40 uBlock Origin filter rules don't work well with the new style. I would need to create a new bunch of rules for the new style. That is not something I want to do if there's no absolute need for it. Therefore, I very much prefer the old V1 style.
I hope the old V1 style will stay available as an option.
