From my perspective, the current layout feels much more balanced. The section-based organization makes the forum easier to navigate, especially for visitors and members who are not logged in. It feels cleaner, easier to scan, and less overwhelming, while still keeping some of the visual improvements that were recently introduced, such as the boxed thread tags.
