@Sampei.Nihira I think your observation about the Reddit requests may have been on the right track.
I did a few additional checks on the "What's New" page because I was still seeing the uBlock Origin counter increasing over time.
Using Edge DevTools, I noticed repeated requests to:
Reddit - The heart of the internet
embed.reddit.com
which are being blocked as ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT. The error count continues to increase while the page remains open.
I also checked Edge's Task Manager and noticed that the page is loading an embed.reddit.com subframe.
In my case, CPU usage remains very low, so I'm not seeing any major performance impact, but I thought the screenshots might be useful in case they help explain why some of us are still seeing the counter rise on the "What's New" page.
Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

I think it works as intended. Check this without logging in/in browser's private mode, and you will not see yourself or me.@Jack Does Recently browsing respect the Privacy option to not show my online status and current activity? Because I can see mine but maybe it is because it is me. Makes no sense but better ask.
