Trend Micro has a reputation for having a high rate of false positives. Aggressive protection enhances the likelihood of performing well in tests.
@Shadowra stated they improved the anti malware engine. So far for me no FP and 0 to none system impact.Trend Micro has a reputation for having a high rate of false positives. Aggressive protection enhances the likelihood of performing well in tests.
Just because a product performs well in a test doesn't mean it has an improved engine. However, it's excellent that you have experienced no FP issues with TM, and it runs smoothly on your system.@Shadowra stated they improved the anti malware engine. So far for me no FP and 0 to none system impact.

@Jengo good info, but @rashmi is correct as shown in recent AV-C test with Trend Micro having the most FP by significant amount compared to others tested. I'm looking at this as I'm considering installing TM on a win10 VM.@Shadowra stated they improved the anti malware engine. So far for me no FP and 0 to none system impact.

Based on the product's performance in your test, you shared your opinion in the opening post. If the product performed well in your observation but did not do well in your test, what would your opinion of it be?It's not just in my test, but an observation. Before making a video, I sometimes test the product for several days, either to learn about it or to familiarize myself with it.
I've known Trend for a long time, and I put it on a dedicated vm to have fun with it, and I found it to be very effective.
Protection wise just as good as Bitdefender, and to me to be honest, FP, i dont care so much, better one extra block then none at all ;-)@Jengo good info, but @rashmi is correct as shown in recent AV-C test with Trend Micro having the most FP by significant amount compared to others tested. In case where it was tested against 480 urls, 29 false positives probably due having aggressive web protection, you can always unblockTrend Micro has a reputation for having a high rate of false positives. Aggressive protection enhances the likelihood of performing well in tests.
Still running fine here, protection is good and like you said good web filtering.fwiw, just installed Trend Micro 2024 on VM. Haven't come to any conclusions about system performance ("feel") yet, but web filtering seems good. Running VS Cyberlock 7.77 with it.
False-positive tests include both websites and installers. Regardless, the occurrence of false positives varies depending on users' habits, visited websites, and software. In case where it was tested against 480 urls, 29 false positives probably due having aggressive web protection, you can always unblock
For me its perfectly readable on white or dark themeI do have one peculiarity with TM perhaps unique to my VM -- the occasional TM popup alerts display on white background with very pale light blue text that is barely readable it is so faint. Not sure how to fix this, perhaps switch to dark theme for the system...
thanks for snip-it, I wish mine looked like yours! I will post a snip of what I'm seeing a little later. Good to know what it's supposed to look like, thanks!
