Hi,
I've ditched lagmachine Sophos Home. Now i'm testing trial version of Trend Micro Antivirus+. I do like it so far. Way faster than Sophos in every possible way.

how much is the ram usage and are there cpu spikes? in the past, the antivirus plus was similiar to Gdata....heavy
in some cases and no options for tweaking for a better performance

Here's the screenshot of TM Antivirus+ running on my machine with 11 Chrome tabs open:

I've only disabled "Scan for suspicious files as the computer starts" and "Automatically delete files that show any signs of a threat".
Installed TM Antivirus+ yesterday. After installing, memory usage was like 250mb but seems that it settled down after a day.

That is Boot time protection, should nt be disabled

been using it for 6 moths or so, a couple of years ago. i got a GOTD key for 6-9 months, can`t remeber exactly, but i remember it had a great clean white UI and the detection rate was quite good. you should stick to it.

Used Trend a couple of years or more ago ended up with several licences though not sure how - Not sure I liked the UI but served me well.

Too heavy on my laptop (it has 4gb ram and 5th gen i3 processor). Just uninstalled and installed f-secure. system runs much smoother now

Heavy? The version from years ago I agree with you, test the current version and tell me later, so far this is the lightest antivirus I've tested, similar to Norton in performance, which is one of the lightest on the market.

How funny, mine does not reach 100MB of RAM, and when I play or watch something in full screen it falls through the middle, since it has the 'silent mode'. And even if it uses RAM, remember, RAM is to be used, using RAM does not mean that the program is heavy, heavy is when it uses a lot of processor.

I have been testing out Trend Micro maximum security because a friend of mine gave me a free key. The key lasts until 2029 so I’ll be protected for awhile lol. They also have a very decent BB.

Trend Micro do not like the privacy issue, but their protection is cutting edge, and it has nothing to do with Comodo, Comodo is rubbish, I don't even know how it still exists:
