Vivaldi Web Browser Updates

I tried vivaldi yesterday under Shadow Defender.
I installed flash player for chromium but when i wanted to watch a movie i got a message <player not found>.
Except that when i went to adobe site to download flash player a message was telling me that i had flash installed but it is disabled.
I went to vivaldi plugins but no flash wasn't installed to enable it.
Does anyone knows what this is?

I had the same issue in the past. I removed flash player and installed the PPAPI flash player again. Keep Vivaldi closed until it's installed. Then it worked for me.

In today's snapshot we: added some more default shortcuts (all tweakable of course!); fixed tab opening to better follow the selected setting (and renamed the settings to be clearer); fixed a bunch of minor issues in the address field; fixed a number of small (but annoying) regressions; updated Chromium to 51.

Flash is working fine now on vivaldi.

Something else.
I noticed that when i updated to the newer version the size of vivaldi has doubled.
Is this normal?
To be clear from 183 MB now it's 307 MB according to Revo Pro.

I guess there are both version still in Vivaldi folder. You can remove the old version (folder) manually.

Yep. I can verify that this does happen when there is an update to an already installed copy.

Getting a total of 391MB total here. Not really a problem if you think about it. Google Chrome is far bigger than that. Especially since it does the same exact thing. lol

This totals out to almost 600MB. Almost double (even when measured separately folder to folder comparison). Seems the problem is with Chromium, not Vivaldi.

First thing I noticed so when updated, Vivaldi is consuming fewer resources, I hope it stays that way!

@silversurfer thanks for the information and i yes i uninstalled the previous version manually.
@OokamiCreed you are right, this is a chromium problem. When i had Cent browser installed every time i got an update size was
getting bigger, at some point it was showing me a size more than 700 MB.
At least now i know what to do, thanks guys for your help

I have done a comparison of Vivaldi and Cyberfox at the weekend watching sports in live streaming.
I just wanted to see CPU and RAM usage during the games.

Both browsers were using the same ammount of RAM.
But Vivaldi was using a bit more CPU which is acceptable since it's a brand new browser.

Another positive thing is i didn't face any crash during the games with Vivaldi.

Form my point of view Vivaldi even in it's early stages is definitely a keeper.

p.s: Changing colour depending on the website reminded me why old Opera was a pioneer at bringing new features in browsers.

Vivaldi is a good browser but don't forget it's a new one.
From what i have seen on my system it's using a bit more CPU and RAM than Firefox.
I am sure that in the next versions these will improve a lot.
Also a good thing about Vivaldi is that is very stable, i had no crashes while i was using it so don't hesitate to try it.

Vivaldi won't update here! I thought it was my slow internet that caused this problem (and it is slow), but I've been trying to update it for several days at different times, and nothing seems to be working.
I looked it up on Vivaldi forum, and apparently it's a common problem with Vivaldi. Update error (1/1) - Vivaldi Forum - Vivaldi Web Browser Community
I'm not sure if it is safe to use an "outdated" web browser.

I have also had this problem! The only way I managed to solve was to manually download and install. Today sometimes still happens, whenever this to finish downloading ... But always in the 2nd or 3rd attempt I can update.
I see that many also have this problem before happened a lot, today they improved in this regard, more is still not 100%.
But with time I believe it will be 100%

I hope they still launch this week an update to stable version, it will be a big list in the update.
I look forward to the Vivaldi updates, see that each update the browser improves, I am using the stable version, this very fast! And is not consuming too many resources, I use these extensions ( AdGuard, Feedly Notifier, Magic Actions, TrafficLight, ImTranslator ), it makes no difference to your browser, low RAM consumption, which for me is important because my laptop is not Nasa , and always have a lot of tabs open and doing other things.
I hope soon to change the page of history, it is the same as Chrome, is not in harmony with the rest of the browser.
