Emsisoft's support used to be top notch, maybe that changed a couple years ago when they got rid of their forum and laid people off.
Very true. Have had a lot of email conversations over the past 10+ years, and EVERYTHING was taken care of efficiently and quickly. Sadly, all those people have been dismissed. the new people just read from a script and tell you what makes THEM look good. How can keys "BE TOO OLD"??? ✌️

Have promised myself to NEVER spend another dime with Emsisoft.

Emsisoft... I used to have a license but their one great feature their Behavior Blocker has been copied, implemented and introduced to basically all AV's now. They used to be industry leading but time has sort of left them behind. Sad because I really liked their privacy policies, but the fact in the past there were issues with recurring discounts/codes on subscriptions left me and some others with a bad taste.

yeah I vaguely recall some subscriptions issues, but that was several years ago, I did not use emsisoft for a couple years, but currently it has been a good / happy choice for me. (fwiw) ;)

I use Eset on my main computer (powerful, discreet and light), Trend Micro on my laptop (reliable, stable and discreet) and finally McAfee on an old laptop (very light, but sometimes intrusive...). I never use the same antivirus on my computers, in case of a failed update, I will at least have one effective machine left. As for the licenses, I wait for cheap promotional offers.

From think 2009-2019 I used Emsisoft and then when discount price no have I stopped. Now Use Kaspersky Standard 3 years and low resource use and too good for me. Just need know where find cheap good price for extend license.
best time to get long term subscription from any vendor is black Friday. kaspersky makes its license so cheap that it actually becomes the cheapest to get. eset etc too.

I never thought of that, just in case a PC gets bricked (glitched) by a AV update :) For myself, it is more of what AV works best with that device and its specs etc.

Does Avast still offer the ability to roll back a build in case it caused system instability? That was (is) a nice feature.

All laptops and phones here are BDTS. Easy to control in the Control Center.

It's one of the better portals for monitoring devices, subscriptions etc.

F-Secure...not so much ;) :) edit: the portal will show the device installs, but only gives you the option to Rename and to Release, remove a device.

Don't understand the love for BD. Detection is good but it's clunky. And I will never use BD again, I do not understand the love for a product which deletes WF when uninstalling a free AV product.
WF is Windows firewall? I've tried BD a couple times in the past year and if it deleted the firewall I saw no evidence of it. If WF is something else just ignore me. ;)

Yeah Digimor WF = Windows Firewall. Sadly this was on a new laptop. BD removed the WF, could not reinstall or fix using DISM or sfc/scannow and had to a clean refresh. Not impressed.

I'm currently using Comodo Internet Security (yes, yes, with its antivirus), because I was tired of having to find an antivirus, a firewall, an anti-malware, an anti-rootkit, etc., all without compatibility issues. And since their effectiveness varies from month to month, I've kept Comodo since version 2, but I've still tried looking elsewhere, and I always come back to it: it's relatively complete, offers effective protection even when it's not detected (which is often the case), everything is integrated and it's lightweight. Otherwise, I like Symantec Endpoint, Avira when it was with its old version 3.1, as a firewall, Windows Firewall Control; for the rest, I admit, it's silent. But I'm still looking for a replacement and I can't find one.
