Brave, the ad-blocking browser from former Mozilla CEO, grabs $4.5 million:
SOURCE: techcrunch.com (ARTICLE DATE: AUG 1st 2016)

Brave Software, the new web browser company co-founded by former Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich, has raised $4.5 million in seed funding for the continued development of its open source browser that blocks online ads and other trackers. Unlike traditional web browsers where ad-blocking takes place via a third-party add-on or extension, Brave’s browser has this technology built in, claiming not only to offer users more privacy, but also increased speed and performance – especially when surfing the mobile web.

According to metrics shared by Brave, the desktop version of the browser offers a 40 to 60 percent speed increase, and a 2x to 4x speed increase on mobile devices. Because of its ad-blocking and script-blocking features, mobile users will also see less battery consumption and data usage.

The browser offers a variety of security and safety features, as well, including support for encrypted data traffic via HTTPS Everywhere, fingerprinting shields, phishing protection, malware filtering and the above-mentioned script blocking.
The Brave browser is planning its 1.0 release for September

Hello,
before joining MT, I was using Firefox...

Than, I've tried Cent Browser (google safe browsing... light memory consumption... fast...).

But because I wanted to have the last security patch, and because I saw they are allowing mixed content like that:
Difference of security with Chrome

... I've switched to Chromium. (chrlauncher by HenryPP is great for handling updates ! chrlauncher)...
Memory consumption is not so big.

But, because there was nearly no differences between Chromium and Chrome, I've switched to Chrome !
I've kept a portable Chromium on my corp notebook (because it's portable...)

My son is laughing at me: "what browser are you using today :p ?"

Few years ago, when i started using PC i was thrilled by different browsers and applications. But now i am like, Firefox is working great why would i need 4 different browsers just to visit MT, WS, YT, FB and Gmail. Sure from time to time i give new browsers a go like Chrome, Neon and Opera (after every 2-3 major releases). And in case FF doesn't work i will always have Edge at my disposal.
Also Chrome doesn't have Noscript (only reason its not my default)

I tried them didn't like there UI, fuctionality.
I think you'll be able to get used to it. The lack of on-hover and reload on change and whitelisting of google stuff might make you faster on NoScript but the addition of hpHosts, etc. on uMatrix and ScriptSafe makes you faster in deciding what to allow.

I will try these extensions againwhen next time i install chrome.
Although on FF, I don't allow js to run on any website except those which are safe and frequently visited by me. As what to allow i usually start with the main site then proceeds by seeing how it behaves. If it works without js, then i just don't allow it.

I forgot. There's also Quick Javascript Switcher (Chrome only).

Yandex - I was looking for a browser, which is "unfriendly" to EU/US, because of privacy issues.
I use Russian browser with its own sync and its own DNS via dnscrypt, as well as Russian emails.

I prefer Chrome, just because of it's functions outside being a browser. Having profiles and the like is really cool. I bet other browsers do similar things but I've always preferred Chrome. Still, I had using Firefox for 13 years, but it's consumption of processing power was getting ridiculous.
