Hey, I'm from Germany too, and sometimes I'm using Windscribe, my advice would be just to keep default "Server-Location", so you will be connected to the current possible fastest server like mostly "Switzerland" or even "Germany", but other manually chosen servers like "Netherlands" or "France" are running fast enough here from my location in Germany...

I doubt that there are good free VPN's that are also usable for streaming... You should stick with the paid option if it works for your needs at the moment
In free option Windscribe gives you only 10GB/month so not enough for streaming I guess.
If it's not primarily for security/privacy purposes, try Opera VPN.

Hey, maybe it is not popular to say, but for VPN, you have to purchase a subscription, the free alternatives sell your data, that is how they manage to get by.
