There's not much difference between the PRO Antivirus + Firewall and Internet Security Suite, except Anti-Spam and Parental Controls. What's the point of that.

However, I have to ask, does the ZA Free AV + FW use the identical AV engine as the Paid versions?

Earth, their site says that the paid internet security has "automatic antivirus signature updates" at every one hour, while ZA Free AV + FW automaticaly updates the AV signatures at every 24 hours.

Yes it is exactly the same engine and signature updates. The only difference is the free version only gets one auto update per 24 hours, but you can manually update it anytime to the current signature.

I agree most home users would not need these Pro features.

i did not see any info about a 2014 version on there forums but found this about Firefox 23 and this new version
i do not know why thay would not post it in the change log

In my opinion, ZoneAlarm still has the best third-party firewall, even though it has had some issues with not supporting Firefox and the security toolbar never works with Firefox either. I'm glad they finally solved the Firefox incompatibilities. Just about everyone knows Kaspersky AV has always been very good and ZoneAlarm is one of the very few that offers the Kaspersky AV engine for free. It is still a bit heavy on memory but if you have at least 1GB of RAM, that shouldn't matter much.
