Brave update improves script blocking and Google Sign-In privacy
Starting in Brave 1.51, the new version just released, Brave users may now allow some of these scripts. Blocked by default once enabled, some scripts may be required for site functionality, and users may now select to enable these instead of giving the site a carte blanche in this regard.

The functionality is not as sophisticated as that provided by NoScript Security Suite or uBlock Origin, but it gives advanced users more control over the script blocking and allowing functionality.

Brave Software is working on a new privacy feature for its Brave Browser that it calls Forgetful Browsing. The feature is scheduled for inclusion in Brave 1.53 for the desktop and Brave 1.54 for Android.

Forgetful Browsing configures the web browser to delete cookies and other site data automatically when a website is closed in the browser. Brave users may configure the feature for individual sites or for all sites in the browser.

The privacy feature gives Brave users control over first-party site data and cookies. First-party refers to the actual site that users are on.

Using the feature is quite simple. Brave has added it to its Shield feature, which powers the content blocker as well as other privacy and security protections.

I have been forced(as in, no other option) to use Brave in order to connect my Web3 domain to my Web2 site and integrate my wallet into the system.

I find it totally overwhelming and so full of bloatware its been a horrible experience. It is continuously throwing up options for me to hand over control of my web browsing to its idea of how it should be. Reminds me of Windows.

So, after several frustrating hours I deleted it.

I'll wait for DuckDuckGo(or similar) to provide the integration I need.

edit:
...oops, might be in the wrong thread. Sorry, go for it mods...

One of the main new features of Brave 1.56 is its new Off The Record mode. The new browsing mode allows users of the browser to access certain sites with sensitive information without leaving a record on the device.

Brave notes that this mode has advantages over other options, such as using private browsing mode. One argument for Off The Record is that it is automatic, but it also means that it will work only on sites that are supported.

The mode is applied automatically on sites that use a flag and a premade list of sites. Users see a prompt when the mode is supported on a site to either use Off The Record mode or access the site normally.
Another new feature of the latest Brave browser release is support for Certificate Transparency. The feature is supported by other browsers already, including Google Chrome and Apple Safari.

Certificate Transparency is an Internet security standard that may reveal certificates that "were given out without them being requested by the genuine owner, such as malicious certificates by a compromised certificate authority".

Brave Software showcased a number of additional features in the past that it planned to include in Brave 1.54, but these are not included in this release. Missing features include the new Forgetful Browsing feature and the Localhost protection. The absence may be explained by the version jump from 1.52 to 1.56. They may make an appearance in the next release.

I absolutely hate that Brave constantly adds crypto related stuff to the browser without ability to turn it off. Brave Search in incognito tab? You guessed it, no option to disable it. Fonts in internal pages are weird, also, no ability to change. I feel like they're forcing me to use that bullsh*t.

On Android, touch to search feature can't be disabled unless you go to the settings from the pop-up that shows up first time. After that, you can't turn it off because, even though the option exists, you can't get to it through the settings.

I'd be willing to switch from Chrome to Brave if they give me options to turn off these features I don't need. I've been waiting for years, and every now and then try Brave, yet there are no changes except every so often new unwanted features appear.
