Once again, you didn't bother to read the article.

Yes, work is about problem solving. However, it isn't about constant damage control. If you worked in the industry, then you would know what I'm talking about.

You keep trying to make this about me, but it isn't about me. It's about Microsoft and Windows 10. You should read the article. You'll learn something.
Like I mentioned you either live and manage it or you move to another OS. The choice is yours

I would say you have lousy contingency plans. If you are the IT-in-charge I would sack you if my factory always have IT-related problems. My factory has to run smoothly and I employ you is to solve problems and NOT to give me problems.
you can solve issue if you have some control on them, what if you don't?
Many SMBs use shipped Win10 home versions, you think they all pay thousands of dollars for Win10 Pro/Enterprises ?

You talk like a home user.

You think you have all in control, no you are not; ITs are just employee and not even the most important one...
You believe your boss will give you large funds to buy the latest awesome softs and hardware to make your job easier? if yes you are dead wrong, you will use what you have, and those are often obsolete/outdated barebone shipped OS/hardware/softs.
Your boss will even force you to add crapware because he likes them, you will say no? i dont think so, he will replace you...

How many times i declined IT jobs because the boss don't want follow my policy or invest a dollar to upgrade the machines/software/OS but rather use the said dollar to buy a new car or plan his next trip to the Bahamas.

come back to reality.

It's no wonder you are not well supported. I can see you have poor PR skills and relationship with your boss

What you say isn't the way things actually work in IT. Perhaps where you live, but here you wouldn't have any admins working for you. Admins here will not work or will quit if their employer has old hardware, still uses Windows XP, low budget, difficult co-workers or boss that causes them grief. Here admins are in such high demand that the employer better make a good, pleasant work environment or they will have no one working for them. Workers will not put up with an employer's crap.

Once again. You didn't read the article.

And no, moving to another OS... it doesn't work that way.

Seriously? now baseless attacks because you have nothing to contradict me LOOOL
btw, i said i declined, if i can't do my job properly, i don't take it; nothing to do with PR skills or relationships. im not a boot-licker, that say "yes boss, yes, boss"

Most boss are total noobs, caring more about budgets than security/efficiency even if you explain them the simplest way.
I bet you are not even a professional IT, if you were you won't say that. Budget is all that matters to them.

So go play with your privacy extensions and let experienced people talk.

I wish to live there. Place where I live, hospitals and other institution servers still relay on XP, when free Win10 update notifications started to appear on Win7 employees computers years back, IT "specialists" here said that it's inevitable, I said "ok, at least block it till you figure out how you gonna deal with it so my mom who is working there doesn't call me every second day asking what to do, she aren't trusting your own local IT's anymore because you can't even install proper printer drivers and you get paid, morons." I remember after that I just installed "Never10" and same for other hospital PC's, I didn't have more time for that ##### nor I got anything out from spending my time. They are still running XP server holding hundreds of thousands patients data in this day..

Others have left Windows to burn here, migrating to OpenSUSE and doing very well.

I know. I have been all over the world. I have seen all sorts of stuff. Most of it not good.

Even here there are hospitals still running XP, but here working in a hospital is a nice environment. It is good working conditions. A local hospital here got hit with WannaCry. No IT admins were fired.

The hospital had to stop surgeries and people died. The pharmacy did not work. Nurses who learned using a PC could not do their job because they did not know how to do it with pencil & paper. The hospital admins called in local universities. The people from the universities decrypted the systems and cleaned them up the best they could. The hospital administrators were offered different antivirus and other security softs. The hospital administrators said "No." They refused !

If you are a good admin and you go through a lot of crap here, you will quit. You won't put up with tons of problems.

I've been saying it's garbage for months on many sites. The amount of insults hurled my way was laughable. They are rushing updates far too much now with the hope that the guinea pigs (consumers) will help them through the bugs. Thought this would of been fact sooner.

I am still using good old, well oiled v1709 and will continue with it for another 6 months or more till I jump to v1803 (not v1809 even then:D). I learned my bitter lesson by installing v1803 day one.
I'm on 1803. But it was like that when I had this laptop (it's new). I've had no problems with drivers, software or bugs,

Thanks to guinea pigs (consumers) my current v1709 setup is super reliable and smooth the way Windows 10 meant to be in the fist place. I would switch to now current v1803 on a later date I find worth doing it. People should stop obsessing over every new Windows 10 version and completely stop participating in Windows insider program. Why one needs to be a Software Tester for Free ? When people stop participating windows insider program MS will struggle to release their software forcing them to recruit quality software testers.

I only slightly agree to this quote. The other side I don't because "insider program" is like a posh name for the beta version of an OS, just using the , guinea pigs to "polish" out anything else. All companies let people download beta versions of their products, mainly to hash out problems, factually something Microsoft is not good at sometimes.

Beta program is fine when the company QA tested its product fully and consumer test as final stage. Here with MS it seems there is hardly any QA process inside MS and all the QA testing process is with consumers which is wrong.
