One more change: EAM + OA combo in RT. Switched back from Firefox to Google Chrome + AdBlock.

EMET version 3 is out. Download it here. Zero day attacks are the biggest threat now.

I don't really know if it is needed since OA do have very shrong HIPS module which combined with common sense can provide very strong security ;)

RE: pablozi's config - updated: 08.06.2012

Removed MBAM Pro - it is useless since I have EAM + OA combo, just HMP left.
Added WOT and Ghostery to Google Chrome.

Definitely and MBAM is yet better to be an helpful on demand scanner since its pretty much an AV to do the duties.

Mbam is good on demand scanner even if you best av on your system.
Mbam detects what kaspersky,emsisoft,avast,avira,bitdefender misses.

And how is combo of emsisoft it is light or heavy as it used to be. :)

EAM improved a lot (less than 10mb WS in idle), OAP is a bit heavier (around 30mb), the impact on system is still correct, just the updating process use resources. Scans are fast enough.

Small change, again...
So, realtime protection is now provided by NIS 2012 and MBAM Pro.
WOT and Ghostery were removed from Google Chrome.

MBAM Pro as real time: Is it worth it? If I recall correctly not many users here used MBAM RT features. Think it had to do with resources. Not sure

I am among the ones that dont like its RT features, reasons :

1- Url filter gives lot of FPs

2- Signature based RT protection.

3- 30+mb WS of RAM, too much just for that

now maybe the latest version changes that.

If you have good powerful computer you can use mbam pro but for general user its resource hogger and real time av with mbam on demand is enough to protect machine

My laptop is not so powerful: Samsung R510 with Intel Core2 Duo (T5750) @2GHz, 3GB RAM, nVidia GeForce 9200M GS, but so far I do not feel any slowdown while browsing websites or running apps.

NIS is very, very light. Completely no impact on web browsing speed, running apps or download speed. Like it wasn't there.

RE: pablozi's config - updated: 14.08.2012

So once again :D some changes were made. I have removed NIS and Chrome.
Now DWPF + MBAM Pro are working in realtime and Chrome is replaced with latest stable release of Opera browser.
Chrome was causing very high CPU usage so cooler was working continously while browsing and with Opera I have the same browsing speed, UI is very responsive and finally I do not hear that CPU cooler is working ;)

RE: pablozi's config - updated: 14.08.2012

I had that Chrome issue back in about a month or so. So what I did at that time reverted to the previous build and then skipped the build that was causing CPU usage spikes (mine was spikes not continuously).

I will stay with Opera for some time. I never liked Opera that much, but I am starting to change my mind ;)
