Hi, I use Comodo Firewall (configuration recommended by CruelSister) combined with Symantec Endpoint Protection unmanaged (only antivirus module and proactive protection, with some modifications that I think are more effective in protection). I use this combination because it is free and although I am not an expert in the field, I think they provide decent protection for a home user.
Comodo alone blocks nearly everything so it's definitely great

In my Windows10 and 11 machines I use the Microsoft antivirus. But the real barrier lies in the Router antivirus and Simplewall. Of course I deleted all MS bloatware to avoid spying. And once a week I run Malwarebytes, Adwcleaner, Diag and Roguekiller in that order. No infections in years.

Mines reporting 7.81, I just did a update check and mines saying im running the most recent version.... Should I download the installer from the website and reinstall or would there be a issue with licensing? @danb

7.86 might be considered beta? Not sure. I was able to install 7.86 over my last version, install closes the currently running version and installs new version saving all your settings, including license, or that has been my experience.
EDIT see you already got the same info from others :D

Kaspersky Standard, three devices for one year, for around US$11.

The free version's the lightest, and I was told that I could stack a cheap serial in my account to avoid paying higher rates. But you have to activate the app from the country where you bought the serial, after which you can use the AV anywhere, so I used a free VPN set to AU to do so.

Later, if I choose not to renew it, the AV will be set back to the free version with no need to uninstall/re-install.
