YouTube has upped the game, the X will display after ~5 secs and the countdown will start only after you switch to the tab. It happens after every song or so, so it is officially annoying.

Have you tried deleting YouTube and Google cookie/cache, and then relogging after updating Ublock filters once again. This has worked for me for almost 2 days now.

Brave browser has been working fine for me, still blocking ads on YouTube.

Disclaimer: YouTube changes their detection scripts twice a day, which means that even if you got a filter update earlier today, another one might be required soon. There's no way around this if you want to remain logged in.

This is a big sad for Youtube.

No i dont go on my account just browse and have not had the ad blocker detection. i use Ublock and Malwarebytes browser guard.

Seems to affect non-Chromium browsers (?).

I am using Firefox and Librewolf but thankfully haven't encountered this issue or adblock warning yet but I use Youtube without login.

I am on Firefox too, but no delay here, maybe the reason what is mentioned in this article from neowin:

Apparently, the problem does not occur when uBlock Origin is used, so if you are annoyed by the five-second loading of YouTube on Firefox and don't want to use a User Agent swither workaround, you can always use the good ol' uBlock Origin.

The 5-second delay is apparently related to ad block detection:

this code is a part of the anti-adblocker code that (slowly) constructs an HTML fragment such as `<div class="ad-interrupting"><video src="blob:https://www.youtube.com/..." class="html5-main-video"></video></div>`. It will detect the adblocker once `ontimeupdate` event didn't fire for 5 full seconds (the embedded webm file itself is 3 seconds long), which is the actual goal for this particular code.

I just quoted this article from neowin, they claimed it based on source(s)...
And as already mentioned, my Firefox has no delay on YT (neither when opening videos in new tab) even with uBO Lite
