I hate to be cynical but the reason they do this and offer an upgrade just before renewal is because they can charge you more for your next renewal on a higher plan.

it's not out the kindness and goodness of their heart.
Yep, I agree, it was at the back end of the subscription. Fortunately, mine was just about 2 weeks in. The first thing I do with these type of subscriptions is to disable the auto-renewal, as chances are they will offer you a better price to renew again about 2 weeks before your subscription ends. Which then means disabling auto-renewal again, as it will be turned back on when the renewal is made (at least with most of the AV vendors).

@BigWrench I would confirm your auto-renewal is off as that upgrade may have turned it on, so that as @Zero Knowledge mentioned, it could just be a great way to get more money for the upgrade renewal. Then see if they offer you a better deal towards the end.

No worries. I never buy keys from the OEM's. ALWAYS can find a bargain elsewhere. @SerialCart, NewEgg, eBay (if trusted), Amazon, even Kinguin. Never, EVER from the OEM's. ✌️

They don't have my info. see above post. Norton is especially sneaky concerning auto renew. ✌️

Hello, I am currently using Eset smart security and I noticed that Defender remains active with sometimes a CPU usage when launching a software. Is this normal and if not what to do? The security center indicates Defender disabled.
