New Update ESET v18

Yea, I saw that one.

Limiting such an important security feature to Ultimate would be ridiculous, especially when their competition (Kaspersky and BitDefender) include it in their basic products.
Kaspersky has it even on the free version and it's roll back in system watcher is incredible
But i still prefer ESET

Eset Smart Security running on my laptop has just auto-updated to an 18.2 pre-release build. I can't find a changelog on the Eset forums and no noticeable changes as of yet.
Didn't see any remarkable changes. I just see this one.

Version 18.2.14

  • ADDED: Microphone Monitor
  • ADDED: Ransomware Remediation (ESET Security Ultimate only)
  • REMOVED: Password Manager tile and page removed from products
  • FIXED: CVE-2025-5028
  • Other improvements and fixed bugs
ESET removed many features of it's entry level products day by day and added these to it's flagship products. K offers many features than ESET on it's entry level products. However I prefer ESET. It's just my opinion.

Ultimate is not even available for sale in my country. Best I can buy is Premium. Or their small business/enterprise solutions.

It really doesn't make sense, especially compared to what the competition offers in terms of price & features. It makes it very difficult to continue recommending ESET.

The truth is that posting here doesn't do much, if anything. It would be more useful for people that use ESET to post on the official forums, since there is a topic going on about this subject. I assume that if more people give their opinion there, it's more likely that there will be some kind of change.

Ultimate gives of other things gives a VPN, trouble is I don't want the ESET VPN thank you very much - I would want Ransomware Remediation, though my protection against Ransomware is saved images & data on external hard drives, but it still don't make much sense to me.
